The fire took place in Northern Westchester County on Saturday, April 8 at the New York Firehouse Grille at 63 Welcher Ave., in Peekskill.
Although no one was injured, the entire kitchen was destroyed.
The owners said on Facebook the restaurant will be closed while they deal with insurance and rebuild the kitchen.
A favorite with online reviewers and foodies, the "Firehouse" is one of those places where you can make your experience what you wanted it to be. Whether it be burgers and beers while watching a baseball game or a Cobb salad with a steak or juicy ribs with all the fixings with the family in tow.
Right after the fire, the owners thanked first responders for saving the establishment and the public for all of the good wishes.
"I just wanted to come on Facebook and give everyone a sincere thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes we received in the past 24 hours," said owners Alex and Nikki. "Thank you to the amazing first responders for coming together so quickly and putting out the fire as it could have been so much worse."
Kate B. on Yelp had this to say: "So sorry to hear about the fire. We are thankful that no one was hurt by the fire or the responders. We are looking forward to the reopening, and hope the insurance and repairs go smoothly. I look forward to having our burgers and ribs watching the Yankees this summer. We will keep the staff in our thoughts and prayers."
Another fan said they had to be reopened by June so they could have their birthday dinner at the restaurant.
The owners say the repairs could take a while, Daily Voice will keep you posted.
